You can choose from 1 or 2 training sessions per week; Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Both sessions cater for people who have never played netball before to more experienced players. Tuesday is 1 hour 7-8pm, Wednesday 1.5 hours 8-9.30pm.
-
We currently have four teams in the Durham Social Netball League, if you are keen to join please come along to our training sessions and talk to our coaches. Matches are played on Wednesdays and Thursdays usually April to July (Summer League) and September to February (Winter League).

We run walking netball on Friday mornings, 10.30-12pm with drinks and cake afterwards. Walking netball is for people who may be looking for a gentler pace, or less impact as there is no running or jumping. Walking netball is still active and will help achieve fitness and the same skills as regular netball. The ‘walkers’ also go out for lunch every 4-6 weeks, after the session, at the Pub & Kitchen, Cassop (our Club sponsors).
-
The club regularly takes part in netball tournaments with multiple divisions for walking, back to netball and social leagues. There are themes such as over 40’s, charity fundraisers and businesses, so there is something for everyone! Tournaments usually run on a weekend and have additional fees from members to allow us to take part and provide an umpire.
-
We love to get together socially and every year we have multiple events scheduled. These include the AGM which includes drinks and games after the formalities. We have Christmas and Summer parties every year as well. Many of the players also get together with others to attend Super League matches, and days out. You would be more than welcome at all of these, when you join as a member.
-
Each year we hold an annual general meeting to update you as a member on how the club is progressing, discuss new ideas and to vote for new committee positions. It is an essential part of providing you with a supportive, inclusive and fun netball club. To find out when the next AGM is being held please see our Meet the Committee page.
-
As a member you are able to access financial support in order to attend training sessions, get training and match kit, as well as other things that allow you to be part of the club and play netball. If you are unsure if something qualifies for this support, or if you would like to have a confidential chat, please contact Marion, our Head Coach who can guide you and give advice.
“I loved the fact that so many older women had something to go to that could keep them active and fit, and it was so welcoming I was hooked. ”
“Getting back into Netball after 25 years was one of the best things I’ve done. I look forward to playing every week, and spending time with a lovely bunch of people.”
“I love playing for this team because we’re basically one big netball family! There’s always plenty of laughs, a bit of chaos and loads of support both on and off the court. ”
