Meet the Committee
You and the club are supported by a committee that is voted for every year by it’s members. Each committee member brings different perspectives and skills to the table, and our dedication comes from being united by a love for netball.
Marion Storey
With a vision for building something meaningful for the local community, Marion welcomes players from all walks of life, and shares her years of playing and coaching netball around the UK. Along with her passion for the Club and it’s members, as treasurer, Marion keeps the club running every single week.
Head Coach and Treasurer
Tracy Reid
As an employee of England Netball and having played netball at County level, Tracy is dedicated to helping players at all levels reach their full potential. Her knowledge of the game and creative approach to training and match play, brings laughter and the feel good factor to all our netball sessions. For those of you who know Tracy, she can be the loudest on the court, whether umpiring or playing, but her intentions are always to get the best from people.
Coach and Chair
Coach, Back To & Walking RepDanielle Ward
As a team Captain and player, Dani is dedicated to the people and helping them be the best they can be. She never misses a match (or a social!), and runs the Tuesday ‘Back to’ sessions. As a rep for both ‘Back To’ and ‘Walking’, Dani liaises between the two groups to make sure everyone is happy, and up to date with club decisions. Dani is an admin queen and keeps us all in check for match dates and locations.
Social SecretaryJoyce Williams
Not shy of a glass of wine, Joycey loves to organise our social events, which usually include games, karaoke and a quiz. As a lover of walking netball Joycey not only plays, but is on the side lines of every match supporting us with sweets at quarter time. Joycey is the adopted mum of most of our long standing members and is one of the most lovely, friendliest people you can meet.
Gill Sara
Gill discovered netball after retiring from Local Government, and had not played since school 40+ years ago. She is now hooked, and a regular at both ‘Back To’ and Walking Netball. Gill is passionate about the Club, supporting teams as well as new players. Her passion for Crystals is as strong as her commitment to Sunderland AFC - which is definitely saying something!
Vice Chair
Gail Johnston
Organised and diligent, Gail brings her deputy head teacher experience to keeping the committee working effectively. Since retiring 3 years ago she has enjoyed giving more of her time to the club especially organising and ordering kit for everyone. Gail is dedicated to the members and helping us to grow our community. Gail is highly competitive and loves to win a match!
Secretary
Safeguarding OfficerDiane Buckle
Diane’s passion for people is second to none, she is friendly and approachable, and will welcome all new members with open arms. Diane plays both social league and walking netball, and is the person to go to for any people or personal issues that occur whilst being part of the club. Diane has been on a number of courses for safeguarding and has expanse of experience, so you are in safe and confidential hands if you do need any advice.
Social Media ManagerLeah Pratt
Leah is the queen of a match report bringing fun and humour whether it’s a win, loss or draw. Her creativity and ideas for our social channels matches her long distance shooting ability. She is working towards being a qualified umpire and so is a stickler for the rules. Leah is competitive and dedicated to netball and plays for several teams within the region.
Anita Sara
Anita is fun (some say “crazy”) and has a wicked sense of humour, and therefore likes to do things differently! She swims off the coast of Seaham in the winter, and is the first one on the dance floor. Saying that, she is a brilliant shooter and mid court player and recently won most improved player at our awards. Anita is always the first to welcome new members and be the life and soul of the party.
Disciplinary Officer
Julia Moulton
Aside from supporting our treasurer with the financial side of the Club, Julia has the other very important job, which is to organise and run the raffle on a Friday at our walking netball session. Julia is not only dedicated to the raffle, she is 100% dedicated to the Club and never misses a training session, or match, and is team Captain of the Rubies.
Vice Treasurer
Website Manager / CreatorKathy Barrett
As a marketing professional Kathy brings a strategic approach to both the clubs communications, and how she plays netball. A lover of an on court strategy as well as supporting the teams from the side lines, she enjoys being with people no matter what the occasion or event.
